Was curious because I saw a report several years ago that a poll of prison inmates resulted in about 53% saying they would make an open carrier their first target & 47% saying they'd move on to easier pickings. For all practical purposes, a toss-up & basically just guessing about the mind set of the BG.

Those polled in prison would likely give a remark that makes them seem to be a Bad Ass. Not sure I would rely on a prison poll.

I'm with gtgeorge. However, as a former LEO, I once had a guy who specialized in liquor store robberies tell me, "We see some asshole with a piece we pop him right away. Rest of the crowd fall down, crawl away from us, piss their pants, whatever." In other words they neutralized the threat. I never forgot that, which is why I never open carry.

Concealed unless I'm in my Jon boat back in the swamp fishing. I don't want those Florida swamprarts stealing my moonshine.

Mostly concealed unless I am on my bike .... then it is mostly open carry. We have the option in Michigan to OC .... if you have a CC license you can even OC in pistol free zones like schools, entertainment centers over 2500 peeps, sporting events, etc. I will occasionally OC to a store or restaurant just because we can..... it is a good conversation starter and a good way to discuss 2A rights. I have used the opportunity to promote and encourage people to get their CPL's.

I really don't like to carry the big 1911,&.38/357 Magnum. I do like to switch up between my Taurus .38 SPL +P,my Glock42 380 & my M&P 40 Shield.

I open carry most all the time unless it would be inappropriate like church or such. But I don't carry my 1911. I carry my S&W M&P .40 full size. Because of its capacity 15+1 with 2 extra mags on my belt. Just feels better knowing I'm ready. Plus my Ruger SR1911 commander is just too nice to carry everyday.

Concealed Open carry been legal since 1792 in Ky (unlike TX we don't require a cc permit to open carry. Retard state . We had open carry over 40 years before you fought the Alamo) Now tell me again how gun friendly Texas is with 30/06 and 30/07 signs and that silly open carry law .

Re: Daily Carry, concealed or open?

As I said in another post I've carried a 1911 for many years. If I'm out of bed, I have my jeans on. If I have my jeans on, I have my commander in a Galco Double Time IWB holster.
I always carry concealed for various reasons.

Re: Daily Carry, concealed or open?

I carry concealed most times. A few times, when going into Gladewater & not expecting to run into a crowd, I've carried open with no bad results. No one screamed, fainted or called 911.

I carry concealed when in Longview, but less concerned about accidentally exposing it & had no problem about removing my jacket at the dentist's office. I didn't think he would object, but never really asked him if ok, so before open carry was legal, I'd left it in my pickup if I'd be removing my cover.
