Okay lets start posting some holster pics....

    Attachment 67Attachment 66

Hello all - big fan of the American Classic Commander. Recently it has taken over my edc role, replacing my Glock 30. She has been 100% reliable and is one heck of a great shooter. Near 3k rounds down range and she is still going strong. I switched back to the original grips from hogue wrap arounds - the original grew on me and find it more comfortable.

I ventured into exotic leather recently and shared this elsewhere. Below is my American Classic Commander in her new "The Cage" holster with a full elephant front with the Matching MagPac II pocket magazine carrier. After feedback from my clients I decided to upgrade the design for both OWB and IWB carry with removable IWB loops and an adjustable cant. Now it is a Jack of all trades and a Master of all (okay a little biased lol).

Before this I was a huge OWB fan and not so much of an IWB fan... now I wear IWB 100% of the time. Maybe its the rig, maybe its me, maybe it because the American Classic Commander is an excellent firearm... you decide

What I can tell you is that the American Classic makes me look good on the range.

Could it be worn OWB, using the removable loops rather than running the belt through the main loops?

edited - I miss understood the question. No it can not be worn OWB with the loops. To be 100% honest with you - I do not care for the design that incorporates loops to attach for OWB carry. With 1911's there is more weight and thus we are having to have a lot of faith in those OWB loops. It only takes the loops failing one time for there to be the potential of injury. Other makers have incorporated that design, but from a liablity stand point my OWB holster mode is with the belt threaded thru.

    Original response to follow:

Yes it can be worn as IWB or OWB.

The IWB loops are removable via chicago screws to allow for a tight to the body profile while OWB. (all hardware is included for IWB carry).

The thing that 1911 owners like is how it is more of a high ride while OWB allowing you to get away with wearing normal shirts vs oversized to cover up the bottom of the firearm. The shape also pulls the gun in nice and tight when OWB.

Attached are two images - same holster just in different modes (IWB vs OWB). Simply remove the chicago screws and you have OWB. Attach with the chicago screws and its IWB. The adjustable cant points are also reinforced with heavy duty eyelets to ensure that the adjustment holes maintain their shape and add to the longevity.

It was good friend and leo who pointed out that the design allowed me to offer 2 perfectly comfortable and concealable hoslters in one package... that and he saw that he could save money by getting one holster to fit both needs lol.

I guess I shouldn't post any pictures then. I haven't gotten my "seasoned officer" look yet

Good looking rig. I can't carry IWB, but UBG makes an OWB holster that snaps on & I may give that a try. Only reason I haven't already is I only have to remove my holster once, sometimes twice a year when I see my VA doctor.
