    Re: Thinking about one

I have an American Classic Government Model that has been 100% reliable after shooting over 3,000 rounds thru it. It has taken all kinds of mags and ammo and goes bang every time. It does tend to hit...

    Re: Government Model range report

My Colt had the front sights fall out twice. The second time I handed it to my gunsmith and he staked the heck out of a new sight.

    Re: the difference

The Government model is more akin to the military M1911-A1. The AC Classic II has the modern upgrades.

    Re: what happened

Maybe it's because American Classic 1911s work so well, shoot all the time and hit the target, they're so boring. No drama.

    Just saying!

    No drama range report

Another 100 rounds thru my MA 9MM Commander: great groups (at different distances), no problems, too much fun.

Except for the round count, my range reports for this pistol is always the same.

    Re: commander

The shorter barrel and slide will knock off a few ounces. As for shooting, the sight picture will make little difference so you should shoot aas accurately as with the full size.

Re: Anyone have a Bobcut AND an American Classic?

In addition to the features listed above, the MAC models include more hand-fitting work done to them, so you will see it to be a bit more refined in cut and fit.

Which proves one thing about American Classic 1911s, I don't know if you can find a better 1911, just a more expensive one.

Re: HELP!!! Need help with ACII .45

The only problem with both my Gov't Model 45ACP and 9Mm Commander is that every time I shoot them, they run out of ammo. Yes, every time I shoot. I can't find anywhere that the warranty will cover...

With about 3,000 rounds thru it, in about 2 1/2 years, my AC Gov't Model has been 100% reliable.
