    Leaving the spring compressed is not a bad idea. Exercising it will work better.

    Do the magazine's feed lips have a sharp edge that bite into the brass? You would be able to tell from the brass....

    I reload for my MA Trophy (5") and my Kimber Pro Carry (4") as well as every other caliber I own. 200gr. LSWC on top of some Red Dot. The Kimber needed a lighter recoil spring for the plinking loads....

    I have a one piece guide rod in my Kimber pro carry 4". It works. I also use a wolff XP recoil spring on it. As far as fit on the Amigo, I don't know. Have the original parts failed?

    Well... As a rule, I stay away from ammonia based cleaners. I've read where HC finishes and chrome lined barrels showed damage. Most likely because the ammonia based cleaner was left on for extended...
